F-10 Moderation Workshops
Moderation is not only a process for developing consistency and comparability of assessment judgments across different assessors, programs and schools, it is proven to be the most effective professional learning for teachers.
We invite you to join us in a discussion about assessment decisions and the Australian Curriculum: Languages (Indonesian). Through a social moderation process, we will support you to understand the Achievement Standards at each of the Band Levels most appropriate to you, and to align your evidence-based judgments with others teaching and assessing students in the same Bands.
As a community of assessors, we will talk through actual student work samples and examine how the observable characteristics demonstrate the constructs of learning specified in the Achievement Standards.
INTAN will be offering 5 workshops over 3 weeks in Term 3:
Wednesday August 3 - F-2 and 7-8 Bands
Wednesday August 10 - 3-4 and 9-10 Bands
Wednesday August 17 - 5-6 Band
All workshops are two hours and will be held in the Hall at Open Access College, 1-37 Marden Road, Marden at 5pm for a 5:30pm start.
To stimulate discussion, each workshop will be facilitated by two 'champion' teachers of the Band Level who have sourced a number of exemplars of student work to discuss and moderate. You are strongly encouraged to bring work samples from your own context to discuss and moderate.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Cost of participation is $20 per workshop for INTAN Members, and $40 per workshop for Non-members. There will be an accumulative discount of $5 per workshop for consecutive workshops. E.g. 3 workshops for an INTAN Member = $20 + $15 + $10 = $45
So, join us and develop your assessment literacy! Register here.
